Talented and Hungry! Part 1

What's up everybody!

Hope everyone is having a blessed day. I was sitting around thinking last night, I know its hard to believe, LOL. But I said to myself, I said "Self?" Self said "Huh?", I know alot of people that's on their grind right now, trying to use talent that God has blessed them with. So I was thinking, what's one way to let everybody know, what everybody else is doing?! So that's when I decided that my blog today was going to be one big ol' commercial. LOL! If you hear something that may "tickle your fancy" Holla at me, and I can put you in touch with the right person. Remember, this is part 1.

Well it wouldn't be right, if I didn't start off with someone close and dear to my heart. That's right, I'm talking about MYSELF...LOL. If your looking for a comic to host your next event, or just wanna see me on stage, just let me know. Also, you may have seen some of the skits, comedy sketches or music videos I've done. If you would like to star in one for your family to enjoy, I can make that happen as well.

Now I will introduce my host of friends and family, that's "getting their hustle on": SimplyChic Photography, she takes WONDERFUL pictures and will also place your pics to DVD w/ music. L4L Productions, brings your music video ideas to life! Whether it's something for next family event, birthday celebration or something to do for your spouse or loved ones, they will bring it to DVD. ACLPC (Anyone Can Learn PC's); this business will teach our seasoned family members, the basic knowledge of their home PC. Private lessons are available. Her clients already call her "Clarke: the PC Wizard"...Find out why!

Need someone to host or promote your next big event: allow FatKat to announce it for you. Remember, if you want people to show, you better let FatKat tell'em. Speaking of your next big event, your gonna need flyer's and promotional graphics, allow KASS to do your artwork. The "big" corporate giants, can place your event on paper, but KASS will bring your event to LIFE. So your thinking of trying to make it in the entertainment industry, but not sure how to promote yourself? Try DBE (Dave Black Entertainment), he won't stop working, until you stop working.

Everyone enjoys a little music in their life, Young Trill and Lil Streets (R.I.P LaShaun) mix tapes are hitting the shelves soon. But don't wait until Trill becomes large, show love now. Need another performer to tear up your stage? Allow me to introduce you to LYRIC (L4L), he has the Lineage Grade A seal, so you know it's tight! Looking for Gospel Rap? Check out Nfluence. Every song has a story. Making music yourself, but haven't found the right beat, D-Page will make your beats blow the speakers!

Ladies, sometimes you may feel you need a little help deciding which makeup trend fits you best, ask me who's behind MSKIMISFIERCE. Allow her to put the face with the makeup, not the makeup to the face. Gentlemen, tired of doing your yard work or not enough time. Let MRT Progressive Landscaping, LLC come to your rescue.

Most importantly: ALL of the above are local talent, lets use our resources right here at home. I purposely disregarded names to ensure privacy. If anything sounds interesting leave a comment. Feedback is always wonderful, and the aforementioned would appreciated it as well.

1-Luv,
Boogie

Birthday Wishes!!!

Today's blog will be short...lol

This is to my youngest sister Katherine aka Kafin aka Phylis Washington aka Kat aka sisterrrrrr.

I can't believe how much time has passed since you were born. Believe it or not, I actually remember when my sister came home from the hospital. I was in elementary school (Fairfield Elementary),and my dad came to pick me and my other sister up (Jamie) to go home. When we arrived we found my mom laying on her back, with my baby sister laying on her stomach. I leaned to smell her of all things and said something profound to my mother. I said, "Mom, she smells like a baby!" I can't remember the response my mom gave, but I knew then I was going to be a comedian....LMAO.
Enjoy your 27th year on this earth, and remember, make this one better than the last!

Happy Birthday Kafrin,
Boogie

Voicemail's Red Light

They say "home is where the heart is", and I would have to agree with the statement, just my meaning is different.

There were 2 voicemails on my "home" answering machine awhile ago, both from my agent. I pressed the red light and listened to the 1st message: "Boogie, How are you? I noticed that you called ME, but I was getting things prepared for a big event. I'm returning your call, to let you know, I've mapped out a plan for you. I know you've been calling my line alot lately, sorry that I didn't pick up when you wanted me to. But know that I did get the message you left, and your request will come in time. "

I love you,
G!

2nd message: Beeeepp! "Hey Boog, you were great the other night, you made alot of people laugh and brought joy to alot to their hearts. Way to go! Just as I planned! But I'm concerned? You didn't follow through with the HUGE part of my plan. Why? You asked for it, did you change your mind? Do you not want it anymore? Well its OK, I still love you, we just have to result in plan B. The way I had it set, you would have reached your goal quickly, now we just have to go the long way around. But don't worry, as long as I'm your Agent, I will lead you there.

Have a good day,
G!
------------------------------------

To sum it up for everyone, I performed @ the Richmond Funnybone awhile ago. It was my 1st time going up on stage. I was lucky to have my family and friends with me as I was very nervous. Before I got on stage to tell a joke, my nervous took over, and I forgot all but 1 joke I had planned to tell. But there was no turning back. When I arrived on stage, I looked out and saw my wife Terrie and the Lineage, and I acted as if they were the only ones in that sold out audience. I told my 1st joke and looked directly at Richit and Leon, to wait for a response. The ENTIRE place erupted. All of my nervous had left, and I just free styled the rest of my show.

I did extremely well that evening, so much so, the club manager, offered for me to open up for Bruce Bruce, that same weekend. A paid job! I thought about it and prayed over it. In the end, I turned it down. The sound of confusion came from his voice, as I explained why I didn't except the job. His last statement to me was, "OK, but most newcomers would kill to be in the spot right now!". And I knew that, but I'm no longer ashamed to admit, I WAS SCARED!! There I said it!

But over time, my drive has increased to be funny and to make other laugh, for one simple reason. This is what I prayed to God for, He answered my prayer and I didn't pick up the phone. I let the call go straight to voicemail, because I was scared to live up to my own hype. He answered my prayers of courage to do the show, and then answered the prayer for me to get noticed. i just didn't see it at the time. I was blinded by fear, even after I prayed for courage.

So i say to everyone who has a chance to read this: Have you asked for something to happen in your life and later noticed you missed the opportunity to seize the moment. Emenim had a song from his 8 mile CD entitled "Lose yourself". The beat of that song plays in my head everyday now, when I'm thinking of ways to make people laugh.

When you agent calls you, will you answer the phone or let it go to voicemail? When God calls me again, I'll be ready, fear is not a factor for me!

One Love,
Boogie (L4L)...Let's Get it!
