What's up everybody!
You know the old saying, "what happens in darkness, will soon come to light". Well something is definitely going on under my covers when it gets dark. The moving, the growling, the panting, the scratching. Not to mention the muscles tensing up, the sweat from the brow drips onto the pillow. All of these verbs lead up to a very boisterous sound "HOOOWWWLLLLL". Get your minds out of the gutter. LMAO. I think I turn into a WEREWOLF at night. So, when the light came on, this is what I found! Look at these damn sheets!!
NO JOKE, this is the 2nd set of sheets I have gone through. They don't make 1200 count like they use to. I'm in serious need of a pedicure. Yep, that's just a day in the life of your "soon-to-be" favorite comedian.!!

Happy Mother's Day

Like everyone else, I would like to send a Mother's Day shout out to Eleanor Bynum & my Mother-in-Law Trudy Clarke. I'm proud and lucky to still have you here with me!
But today, I wanted to take a different route. I'm sure we all have friends and family, that no longer have their mothers here to physically hold on to. They only have the memories to grasp, because their mothers now carry angel wings on their backs. Days like today, are understandably, a little harder for them to celebrate due to the grief they re-live. So today, If you know someone, whose heart may be a little heavier, make them laugh a little harder. I'm sure they would appreciate the gesture.
And I'm sure if each of them had a voice on my blog, their message to us would be: "If your mother is still alive, hug them a little tighter today, I wish I could". So with that being said, I would like to give a special shout out to those who may be rejoicing in their mother's memory.

Out With The Old and In With The New

What's Up Everybody & Happy Resurrection Sunday! "Happy Birthday Dad aka Cool Jake!
When I was younger, Easter was the day, that I knew my sisters and I were getting new clothes for church. You see, a new suit (for myself or new dresses for my sisters), was a symbol for "out with the old and in with new". My parents may not have had much, but they made sure we went to Sears and picked out a fresh new look for church on Sunday. On the eve of Easter Sunday, I (as I'm sure we all did), laid my suit out, with my new tie and new patten leather shoes. MC Hammer couldn't touch ME, I was too sharp. Those were my younger years!
During my 20's, Easter Sunday was a day to go to church and complain about how crowded it was from all the "once a year" saints & aint's, taking up all the pews from the regular members. Though I was a little older, I still had to be dressed to impress, for the symbol still stood. "Out with the old and in with the new"! It's just now a days, I'm buying my own gear, and not relying on mom & dad to come out of pocket.
Now that I'm in my 30's, Resurrection Sunday, takes on a whole new light for me. It's the same old story and catch phrase, just the meaning behind it becomes a lot more clear. "Out with the old and in with the new"! The Lord, gave his only Son, to die for our sins (the old), only to rise again 3 days later, to show we are forgiven (the new). We all fall and come short of the glory, but because He rose, and left that tomb empty, God gives us the chance to release our old way of life and except the new.
Even church on Easter Sunday is revealed to me a little different now. As I stated above, in my 20's, I complained that the "once a year or O.A.Y" people took up space from the regular members. Now that my eyes are a little wider and my mind became a little wiser, the saying "out with the old and in with the new", still applies. If it takes Easter Sunday to bring in a new flock, who am I to judge. Let the old members embrace the O.A.Y's that come in and worship, who knows, a few of them may even become a "regular". So I won't complain, that your taking up my pew space. Now, when that time comes and you need someone to walk with you to the alter, look behind you, I'm already standing and will walk with you!
Happy Easter Everyone, from my household to yours!
